Endeca announced today that Intel and SAP have invested in Endeca. So with these new information, I modify my bet:

What would move Vivisimo to an IPO?
Over the history of the company I understood that they have not shown consistent revenue growth over the past 6 plus years…why would you say they are positioned to IPO?…Just curious…

i think you might be right. The one thing i truly agree with is the aquisition of Fast by MS will definetly trigger the other large platform vendors to do something about search capability. SAP has alrady substantial search knowhow through Inxight and Business Objects aquisition, so i think SAP would be capable of delivering strong tech based on their own knowledge.
IBM has done some pritty interresting thoughtworks with UIMA and i think they wil continue in that track. I think Cisco, HP and other large players se that if Search can deliver on beeing the next corporate platform for distributed computing and as a generall information access platform, then they all will have a piece of that business.
